I think each child is different as far as when to start them in sports, but I am sure the teams have age limits, so use your best judgment. If the website was not helpful, maybe you could call the rec dept. or just stop by in person one day. In my county, kids can start sports as early as 4 (t-ball and soccer)or 6 (football and basketball). And they have both fall and spring registration for all sports. Also, basketball is in season now. Football season usually starts middle of August and ends around end of Oct or beginning of Nov. Volleyball is usually a private sport. You sign your kids up for lessons and they eventually practice as a team. For volleyball call the YMCA and usually you can get lessons there year round. For summer outdoor volleyball you can get in touch with Country Clubs nearby. You can sign your kids up at the YMCA for basketball and swimming, too.
