When Can I Get My Kids Into Sports?

I have four kids aged 2-4 and i was wondering what age you can start playing youth football, soccer, baseball, basketball, and volleyball. I was also wondering if anyone knows when the season for these youth sports start. I have tried looking at my city’s parks and rec website and its completely useless.

City Hall will have the phone numbers you need to get in touch with Little Leagues. Also, basketball is in season now. Football season usually starts middle of August and ends around end of Oct or beginning of Nov.
Volleyball is usually a private sport. You sign your kids up for lessons and they eventually practice as a team. For volleyball call the YMCA and usually you can get lessons there year round. For summer outdoor volleyball you can get in touch with Country Clubs nearby.
You can sign your kids up at the YMCA for basketball and swimming, too.
So.. start with City Hall then YMCA and while you’re calling them ask for any additional helpful numbers they may have.
It really varies from city to city. If the website was not helpful, maybe you could call the rec dept. or just stop by in person one day.
In my county, kids can start sports as early as 4 (t-ball and soccer)or 6 (football and basketball).
And they have both fall and spring registration for all sports.
I would try calling your City Hall if the website isn’t helpful. I think each child is different as far as when to start them in sports, but I am sure the teams have age limits, so use your best judgment. Good luck with this and be prepared to spend alot of money!!!
Soccer for AYSO starts at age 3 and Preme Ballet and tap or Hip hop starts at 3 or 4!!! At dance Horizons Karate at Hapdosool starts at 3 too!
