1950′s dreams for the future……?

Ok so like has anyone ever noticed that in the 50′s their dreams for the future of america were alot stronger then than they are now. Like the old cartoons of Uncle Sam with a dialouge saying somthing along the lines of “courage today is victory tommorow”. Or like the were made looking way more “futuristic” than they are now. It seems like back then, companies sold “the future”. and the future was supposed to be a happy place where things where things were great. Back then there was such strong hopes and so much faith invested in tommorow, but take a look around. Tommorow sucks. In a way, its like all the inventors, visionaries, and soldiers of that time died in vain. Yes we came a long way since the 1950′s, but we lost alot of great morals, ideas, and culture in the process.

Did The Fcc Put A Restriction On Children Cartoons?

Ok, so im doing a research paper about TV violence and it’s affects on teens and children. *pretty boring* but as a fun twist i’ll be talking about “tom and Jerry” violence and its affects on children. i’ve noticed that after American’s Golden Age of Cartoons (1930′s-1950′s) such cartooons started to go away with their hammer humor.
So did the FCC put regulations on cartoons? and when?
